Oklahoma's First Week at #1: NCAAF Weekly Preview

The Rankings have a whole new look after 3 of the Top 5 teams in the land lost last week. The Oklahoma Sooners are now #1 with, Alabama, LSU, Missouri, and Texas rounding out the new Top 5. Here is this week's picks:

#2 Alabama vs Kentucky
This game may not look like it will be a close contest, but it will be. Alabama has been great this year, but their heads may be a bit high in the clouds after last week's slaughter of Georgia. The 4-0 Wildcats of Kentucky are just the team to bring them back to reality. As we have seen by Ole Miss' upset of Florida last week, none of these SEC games are sure things. In the end, the Crimson Tide are still the better team, so Bama is the pick in a close one.

#9 USC vs #23 Oregon
Could the Trojans fall for the second week in a row to a team from Oregon? I highly doubt it. Pete Carroll's team got a wake-up call last Saturday and I see them coming out this weekend wanting to make a statement. USC takes a lot of ! pride in their football team and they know they have a championship caliber roster. USC rolls in this one.

#14 Ohio State vs #18 Wisconsin
I find myself wanting to start an overrated chant when I look at this matchup. These two Big 10 teams had very lofty rankings coming into the season. Ohio State was quickly knocked down by a much better USC team, and last week Michigan beat Wisconsin. Now they both find themselves outside the Top 10 and I know both are hungry to jump back in. The Badgers will be the team to bounce back though. Wisconsin is the pick.

#13 Auburn vs #19 Vanderbilt
And the leader of the SEC is...VANDY? Yes the Commodores currently sit atop the SEC East ahead of Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee. They now find themselves #19 in the country, but now must face a very under the radar Auburn squad. The Tigers are being overshadowed in the SEC West by Alabama and LSU, but should be put in the same category. Auburn earns some respect t! his week when they bring Vanderbilt back to Earth.
